DEALER INSPECTOR COMMENTS: THIS WOULD BE GOOD FOR THE RESALE PACKAGE WHEN SELLING TO A NEW CUSTOMER.
THIS DOCUMENT CONFIRMS THE GENERATOR PERFORMANCE OVER A PERIOD OF TIME. IT SHOWS THAT THE GENERATOR CAN PULL FULL LOAD AND MAINTAIN VOLTAGE AND FREQUENCY. IT ALSO SHOWS THE THE ENGINE REMAINS WITHIN SPECIFIED OPERATION LIMITS WHILE UNDER FULL LOAD.
THE FOLLOWING WAS COMPLETED: CARRIED OUT CAT USED INSPECTION AS PER APP. INSPECTED AIR FILTERS. FOUND SOME DIRT BUT INDICATORS WERE BOTH STILL IN OK RANGE. REMOVED INTAKE AND EXHAUST PIPING FOR BOTH TURBOCHARGERS AND INSPECTED BOTH TURBOCHARGERS. FOUND GOOD ENDPLAY AND FINS ON THE FRONT TURBOCHARGER. FOUND SLIGHT SIDE PLAY ON THE REAR TURBOCHARGER WITH SLIGHT CONTACT ON THE COMPRESSOR FINS WITH THE COMPRESSOR HOUSING. FOUND END PLAY AND THE TURBINE FINS WERE OK. CHECKED FOR ANY OIL IN OIL PAN AND FOUND SMALL AMOUNT COMING OUT OF DRAIN. FOUND THE OIL TO BE VERY THIN AND SMELLED LIKE DIESEL FUEL. TOOK OIL SAMPLE WITH WHAT WAS LEFT IN OIL PAN. FOUND THE OIL FILTERS LOOKED NEW AND WERE COMPLETELY DRY. REMOVED ONE SECTION OF THE FAN GUARDING FOR A BETTER LOOK AT THE RADIATOR, FAN BLADES AND BELTS. FOUND THE FAN BLADES AND BELTS WERE OK. FOUND THE RADIATOR, ATAAC CORE AND FUEL COOLER CORE ARE ALL PLUGGED EXTERNALLY. TOOK PICTURES OF THE UNIT FOR THE INSPECTION AND FINISHED ALL THE NON-RUNNING CHECKS FOR THE INSPECTION. ADDED PARTS AND LABOUR QUOTES AND ATTACHED PICTURES TO THE INSPECTION.
REPLACED OIL AND FUEL FILTERS. REPLACED BROKEN PRIMARY FUEL FILTER BOWL. FILLED ENGINE WITH 0W-40 ENGINE OIL. INSTALLED 2 NEW BATTERIES THAT WERE MISSING. REMOVED FUEL COOLER AND FAN GUARDING. REMOVED REMAINING FAN GUARD. HELPED YARDMAN MOVE GENERATOR UNIT OVER TO WASH PAD. COVERED ENGINE AND BATTERIES WITH PLASTIC TO REDUCE DIRTCONTAMINATION. PRESSURE WASHED RADIATOR CORE, ATAAC CORE AND FUEL COOLER CORE. WASHED ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND VACUUMED OUT RESIDUAL WATER AND SLUDGE IN COMPARTMENTS. EXTRA TIME WAS TAKEN TO CLEAN RADIATOR DUR TO THE RADIATOR AND ATAAC CORES WERE VERY DIRTY. STARTED REINSTALLING FAN GUARDING. FINISHED INSTALLING FAN GUARDING AND BATTERIES. INSTALLED FUEL SUPPLY AND RETURN LINES THAT WERE NOT CONNECTED WHENTHE UNIT ARRIVED. RINSED RESIDUAL DEBRIS FROM EXTERIOR OF UNIT WITH PRESSURE WASHER.
HELPED GUIDE AND SPOT THE GENERATOR UNIT WHEN IT WAS MOVEDIN THE YARD TO AND FROM THE FUEL STORAGE TANK. INSTALLED 800 LITRES OF FUEL INTO UNIT FOR RUNNING THE ENGINE. FUEL LEVEL ON THE CONTROL PANEL SHOWED 7 TO 8%. TRIED BLEEDING THE FUEL SYSTEM WITH THE HAND PRIMER BUT WAS ONLY ABLE TO PRIME THE PRIMARY FUEL FILTER. DISABLED THE ENGINE SPEED SENSORS AND INJECTOR HARNESS TO PREVENT THE ENGINE FROM STARTING. CRANKED ENGINE SEVERAL TIMES WITH BATTERY BOOSTER CART CONNECTED IN YARD TO FILL THE OIL AND FUEL FILTERS. STARTED ENGINE AND RE-CHECKED OIL LEVEL. TOPPED UP 1 GALLON OF 0W-40 OIL. RAN ENGINE FOR 45 MINUTES MONITORING FOR ANY LEAKS, NOISES, OIL PRESSURE AND COOLANT TEMPERATURE. DID NOT HEAR ANY UNUSUAL ENGINE NOISE AND NO ENGINE SMOKE. NOTICED OIL PRESSURE WAS 70 PSI UNDER NO LOAD AT 160 DEG. F. THE ENGINE COOLANT TEMP WAS SLOW TO CLIMB DUE TO NO ENGINE LOAD AND FAN CONSTANTLY RUNNING. STOPPED RUNNING ENGINE AND INSPECTED ENGINE FOR LEAKS. FOUND NO FRESH OIL OR COOLANT LEAKS. ONLY FOUND SMALL RESIDUAL OIL LEAK AT REAR CRANKSHAFT SEAL. BROUGHT LOAD BANK AND CABLES TO UNIT. PULLED CABLES AND CONNECTED LOAD BANK. CONDUCTED 2 HR FULL LOAD TEST. AFTER ABOUT 20-25 MINUTES INTO LOAD TEST HAD TO STOP UNIT DUE TO LACK OF FUEL. REFILLED FUEL TANK. DUE TO TIME POSTPONED TEST TILL MONDAY. CONDUCTED 2 HRS FULL LOAD TEST. WHEN LOADED TO 50% OF FULL LOAD FOUND EXHAUST TEMP WENT OVER 500DEG C. AFTER TROUBLESHOOTING FOUND AIR OUTPUT ON FRONT TURBOCHARGER HAS A LOOSE AND BROKEN CLAMP. ORDERED NEW CLAMP. WENT TO MAIN WAREHOUSE AND PICKED UP NEW PARTS. CONDUCTED 2 HRS FULL LOAD TEST - SUCCESSFUL. DISCONNECTED TAILS, COILED CABLES, CLOSED PANEL, COMPLETED PAPERWORK.
